Kathy: Sounds great. So what then are the worst parts in being a live casino dealer? Are there any at all?
Patricia: No, of course. Each job has its crosses to bear, as does being a live dealer. You stand up a lot, which makes you physically tired sometimes. And we live largely on tips, so whenever players hold back on their winning generosity, we notice it in our paycheck too.
Kathy: How popular are live games as opposed to the traditional online casino games?
Patricia: Well, traditional online casino games … or RNGs, as they’re more commonly referred to … are still live and alive, to rephrase your own words. However, live games truly have found their crowd too. Those are for extroverted casino enthusiasts who live for the entertainment of their favorite games. And as it is part of any live dealer’s work description to talk and socialize with the players too, many players feel it adds quite a lot to the overall casino experience.
Kathy: Would you ever consider swapping to working at a real live casino instead? As in a land based one?
Patricia: Not really. As a live dealer online we get a lot of breaks, far more than at a regular live casino. But most importantly, I respect and appreciate the distance. I love having people and players around me, just not in the same room. I have heard one too many scare stories from real live casinos to put me off from every applying.
Kathy: Sounds like you’re in a pretty sweet spot behind your virtual live table then?
Patricia: It sure does. My present job as a live casino dealer online enables me to have a good work life balance. I like where I live, my neighborhood, my job and my overall situation and I’m not looking to change anything at the moment.
